first one of my t5 retro bulbs burn out (which makes neither of them work anymore)
then i come home from work and my RKL was completely frozen and everything shut off. so my temp dropped to 77(not horrible).
i reset the RKL and now my right halide wouldnt fire up. i look at the bulb and it has a crack all the way around it. i put in a old spare bulb and it fires up but smells like burning right after it turns on. turned it off immediatly but still not sure whats going on.

so now i have one halide lighting my tank while im trying to get another t5 and halide bulb. and i still have to figure out what happened with the RKL.

of course this all has to happen the week that i am crazy busy at work.

im sure everyone has had a week like this, but i just feel cursed at this point.

It will get better. Good luck with all of that. I hate to hear when people have weeks like that.

Again, Good Luck with all of that. Hope it all works out to your advantage at some point.

Sounds like a fish spashed your bulb which caused a short, which kicked off your RKL or a power surge.

Hang in there....we've all been there at one point or another.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I had this happen to a brand new bulb on my nano/frag tank this weekend. I have got to get to some feet on that thing to raise it up!

Good luck with straightening everything out.

Could be a splash issue. I'll look into that.
What sucks is I'm trying to save for my led conversion and this is going to set me back a little bit.
If it ain't one thing its another.

Aren't you happy you wont have to deal with "bulbs" anymore with your AIs!? Stuff like this was the number one reason I switched to LEDs that were NOT "retro" . Sure the 250w +6 t5s combo was good lighting . . . WHEN it worked right. You will LOVE your LEDs.
