Thanks, it is not too loud but my hearing is bad. My skimmer pump is much louder. I have had some problems with the impeller magnet but now that I have changed my alk to sodium bicarbonate I do not seem to have any where near the problems I had before. I had the problem because I was trying to alternate pumps when they froze because of calcium buildup. I just keep a spare on hand in case one blows. That is a good plan with any pump though.

 

Thanks, I expect it to get better now that I have finally decided what light bulb selection and how many I will use.

Thanks, have you used any MagDrive pumps before? Any idea compare to any Mags to the Rio 8HF? I am using a Mag3 as the return temporarily for my 90 (sump is 20L, 18gallon water volume), Id like to have a bit more flow, even tho its a bit more than ideal. Im looking into 8HF or 10HF.

No luck there, I have only used Rios. I would use the 8F, the 10F is well outside the 10X volume flow through the sump.

 

Ok I thought so. I think Im getting around 220gph with the Mag3 right now. 50+ gph with 8HF is gonna make a difference?

Looks like the Scroll is getting larger as well.

 

Thanks Cheryl, must have the right light and location for the rics. Combo issue on the growth of the scroll. The maxima has knocked the scroll loose and it is an inch and s half closer to the front, LOL. It is growing well though now that it has gained some size.
