As a T5HO system, light wise it's nice. Moonlight LEDs and running blue bulb only in the morning/afternoon def makes for some nice color changes. Nice quality/build.

One thing I don't like is that this unit has a single power plug and no digital timers, which means you control each bulb with a manual switch and there's no way to automate. Even connected to timed outlet, you'd loose moonlight LEDs at night and would be running either both bulbs or one of them.

Being only two 54w bulbs, i believe this is good enough for fish but probably not good enough for a lot of coral.

MH/LED fixtures I see at LFS definitely look a lot brighter and have a ton more shimmer. Since i really like the shimmer effect and would like to grow more coral, I will be upgrading to LED in the near future.

    Looks nice.

If it were me I'd be sure that xenia and GSP was self contained, on some one rock island or something, as they both will spread insidiously.

Actually, when I started I had both of those in my 55 too. I thought I'd love them since they're A. coral, B. pretty, and C. grow fast. I thought wrong. A year later I ended up nuking a lot of rock... ;D

    Good luck with them

I had my GSP and Xenia for about 4 weeks. While each grew some, they did not seem to spread out at all. But I'll def take your advice and see about isolating for the future.

if you read through my build thread, I think I documented it... You can see what I did and how "bad" it got and the amount of work it took to fix.
