I'm a very budget minded Reefer. Some have more disposable money to use on their reef system- and I'm not envious, I'm actually glad they do.

For me, as I sit and type this on my Laptop, I keep glancing up to my 180 Reef 4 ft away in my family room, and marvel on how good the system looks lit by 3 x ChiCom full spectrum, dimmable- non programmable lights that were about $300 Total for the 3- shipped to my door.

So, the thought of not having to buy bulbs every year is.....Priceless.

This is todays pic as I sit in my recliner near my DT:

All set up and shimmering! wow how I missed this look.
Look like 10k bulbs it came with.. only 3 months old so I'll run them for a while. They look nice and crisp white, better then pic.

I know the feeling. I love MH lights. I had a lot of success with MH in the past concerning coral growth but the downside was that I was never able to control them the way I wanted, and the heat, WOW!
I was considering putting my old MH fixture over my new tank, the concerns that stopped me was that I didn't want a canopy and it's too heavy to hang from the ceiling and I had no intentions of using a chiller.

LEDs are great for the shimmer. I really like that aesthetic.
But if I do decide to add a canopy, I will certainly bring back my MHs in addition to the radions.

I've got 2 PC fans in the rear of the canopy sucking air out. Two 3" holes on both side vent fresh air in. I did have two fans blowing in those two side holes last setup but they went bad.. I may need to add them again.. my temp did creep up to 81 but it was also a bit warm in the house today without ac running.

Yeah I really lucked out, I even got it with a best offer of $70 and shipping was 19
Bulbs may not be the best though.. they seem to be a bit whiter/greener then I would like.. Once they warmed up good the lost a bit of the crisp look. I have my eye on some new coralvue 14k bulbs
