hey a couple weeks ago a guy gave me a bucket full of corals and there was this chalice skeleton with a mushroom on it and it has walked to another rock..now it looks as if the purple chalice is starting to come back on the skeleton..its not too noticeable but there is some purple type flesh looking stuff that is coming from the middle of one of the what i thought deads heads..is it possible for a coral to come back from a skeleton?? ive heard candycanes coming back from the skeleton but will a chalice??

the mushrooms red..its too small to post a pic, but it has grown in the past few days..its def flesh of whatever coral it was, and the more i look at it it is on more than just that one head, there are a few heads with the smallest amount of flesh for now..

and yes the skeleton has been in water the whole time..not sure why it died, but something from the bucket he was keeping it in he thinks leaked back into the water..

he said it was some kind of a purple chalice with a few different bright colors..

and yeah 2 i would think my tank has the right conditions if this is really whats happening..

I was gonna guess flesh leftover from the shroom, but I guess not if it's in several spots. Good luck!

if whatever it is keeps growing at the rate its growing now i should be able to post a noticeable pic in a few days..

also i was talking to my buddy jimmy with corals2go the last time i was at his house and he had a few acans that got stung from something and they melted away and he just left them in there and they now have a few heads..so i guess it is possible..i was just wondering if people have seen this with chalices..

but i guess most people just throw the skeletons away once they think its dead

thats what i though too, but it looks like the flesh an acan has, it has a little wiggle to it with the water flow..idk its just weird something is growing and i guess its just the waiting game now..this is why i love this hobby..so many crazy things happen..
