I got this two part epoxy a few months ago from Hobby Lobby for my tank so I can hold the rocks together.

I wasn't sure if it would be OK to use at the time, but for $3 on sale I figured I would use it anyway. I had a rock slide today in my tank(not fish or corals yet, thankfully) and decided it is time to glue the rocks together. Here' is my current scape. I will just be gluing it in sections.

I will just be using this for rocks for now(can I use it under-water???), but will it be OK for corals later on?

SH - someone just did a really good article on "reef safe" epoxies. It was a member here whom I cannot recall ATM. But this person actually took the time to contact several manuf. of epoxy and posted their results. Search for that thread.

Also - push comes to shove you can always contact the manuf. directly. If they do not have the answers you need - that is the answer you needed: DONT USE IT. But others may tell you to cure first then it's reef-safe- while others may say there is no problem whatsoever in any application.

    I agree.

Anything that dries gives me the creeps.

The thread was by xmetalfan. He mentioned a few, but this wasn't on the list as either reef, or not, reef safe. :-/

This one says "Eye and skin irritant", but does now sat "non-toxic", making it iffy as to whether it is reef safe or not.

It was a thread by Incognito. One thing I've learned by calling the manufacturers is that you don't tell them what you plan on doing. Just ask simple questions like "will this product leach harmful chemicals into water once it's fully cured?" They aren't going to tell you it's o.k. to use in a tank because of liability issues. Also look up the msds and see for yourself what is in it. If the packaging says safe for potable water it's a good bet you can use it once cured.

    Yup, wasn't me.

I would do what reefmonkey suggests.
