Is this Conch Reef Safe

    I am assuming this is a conch. My question is, what is the specific species and i it reef safe? It was burrowing into the sand before I bagged it.

    Well, it won't eat your fish or your coral, but any other snails or bivalves in the tank are likely to become lunch for it. It's Stramonita haemastoma, a fairly common Gulf Coast (and Atlantic) muricid. There are several different variants:

    Stramonita haemastoma haemastoma
    Stramonita haemastoma floridana
