30" Metal Halide MH T5 HO Light Hood Coral Reef 346W | eBay

Is this any good ? I have a cube 29x29x26 deep, want to keep a anemone for my clown fishes, I honestly couldnt care less about anything else, the main reason i went marine, was for the clowns, they make me smile everytime i look at them, but they could reall do with a home.

I know this probably isnt the greatest light set in the world, but its very "cost efficient" and seems to tick the boxes (i would be buying a 30" set)

Absolutely. You may need to hang it above the tank to get full coverage with the MH, but that's plenty of light.

I have not had any success with anenomes and my clown in the Nano or my Aqua Euro (had it two years). Whats the secret? I think the Nano lacks oxygen flow. What does the forum know?

Someone with more experience with it might need to correct me, but that fixture does have 2 cooling fans and only 1 MH bulb, so I wouldn't think so.

I have a 30gl with my clown and sebae without issue. However I only have T5.

If it gets to hot you could always mount some computer style fans (about 4" by 4") to help reduce heat. I created little fan boxes in back of my 135 (hidden front sight unless you look around back), helps keeps things slightly cooler.

Hey Ken I'm a newbie by all means with marine aquariums compared to the people here but I've had great luck with my green BTA it seems harder than other species. I'm running a 36" t5 HO with a 10k and 420 actinic and a 36" t8 with a 50/50 bulb and my BTA has been going strong for a year in a 46 bowfront and he stays at the bottom so that light should be sufficient for your adventure or maybe I'm just lucky because I read horror stories in forums about anenomes.

Sounds great, I am determined t give it a go and I am sure this is the right addition to my tank.

As for advice; I take everything I am given and always learn something from it
