how would you go about this.. i have a 25G sump for my 150G. tank. its a custom made sump so its not the fancy glass sump with compartiments. its just one big box with a nest like thing that when water falls in, it gets filtered.

in the picture that follows it shows the set-up. ( i know that having a cap over it is sorta not that recommended but i really cant do anything about it without ripping the cap appart..which i dont feel confortable doing but might do if i do a fuge.)

now i have a 20G container that i could use for the fuge but i dont know how to conect the sump with the fuge to make them work right.

can you make a list of what i would need? even better if you could take the time.. which i would really appreciate to make a small diagram.

If you can, use one of your overflow lines to feed the fuge. Then drill a hole for a bulkhead in both sump and fuge above the water level in the sump and plumb the two together.

You ain't getting no stinking picture from stickman drawer.

can you put the fuge next to the sump?

If you look real close at the last pic. There is a water spout in the upper right hand corner of the fuge. If you look close again you can see a clear hose attached to it. it runs in the back to a small powerhead with a flow control in the main sump. Then it just drains back to the sump via gravity through the 2 pvc pipes. Notice the 2 different water levels.

My idea was to put the fuge in next to the sump and run one of the overflow lines to it....and in the fuge cut out space for a pcv pipe to the level you want the water to be in it and above the waterline for the sump so it can drain into it via a pvc pipe that is sealed w/ silicon.

Hope this helps. If you need a diagram I could do that.

a diagram would be nice. :)

what i like both the ideas, the only thing is.. after the water overgflows from my tank and into the sump, the water has a lot of debris that get filtered by the pads..
so like if i make the fuge.. should i conect the tank's overflow to the fuge? or to the sump?

meaning the water will fall in the sump and then flow to the fuge to then get sent back to the tank? or the other way around?

    oh and another thing...

how can i regulate water in the fuge.. ( its hard to put in words...ill try)

when water falls into the sump, after it filters it gets sent back to the tank with the pump. Now, if i add the fuge, there is going to be less water being sent to the sump right? so how can i maintain the water level just right so all the water doesnt get sucked up to fast?.... does that make sence?

From what I've read you want the unfiltered water to go to the fuge so the plants and such get all the nutrients if went through sump they'd be filtered out with your pads and the skimmer, not that I noticed one in there...but you should get one.
