NO.....you're missing a chamber to hold the water prime in the second stage.

    You need another separator...

I would make a mini durso or put a sponge prefilter on that 1" pipe to limit gurgling and splashing noises. Also, I would recommend a smaller pipe diameter, maybe 3/4"? 1" drain on 15 gallons I think is a lot.

There, Reefqueens photo is perfect, you see how the water in he second chamber goes over the back wall, down, then up again? this prevents the chamber from loosing the prime. In your drawing, it just goes over the back wall, and straight down...if the return pump stopped, all the water in the overflow would go straight down and the siphon would loose it's water inside.

Of course, if the gray tube sticking up is made of solid pipe, then this will hold the water back and the idea is correct. I think I was assuming he gray section was a prefilter of some sort, but now that I see it again I followed the arrows, and it seems like you were planning something solid in it's place.

the grey pipe is solid pipe and not pre filter( u can see the arrows). there will be a nylon bag tied on the outlet going in the sump. so will i need the extra wall?
