    Hello all

I would like to move my Fox Coral to another location in my tank, it’s a 55 gal, I know from some experience, that moving certain corals can upset and even kill them.
I learnt this the hard way, when I had a Green Bubble Coral in my 29 gal BioCube and upgraded it to a 55 gal and transferred everything over and within a couple of days if not a week at the most, my Bubble Coral had died.

I’m not to sure if the Fox Coral would react badly in moving it from one location to another in the same tank and would like to take note of peoples opinions and check if this is ok to do.

I loved the Green Bubble Coral so much and I had to buy yet another for the 55 gal.
At first I had it in the current location of the fox coral, and then the bubbles were pressing against the glass in no time, and then swapped them over.
At the dealer the bubbles flesh wasn’t big (about the same size if not bit smaller than a fist) and it has a small skeleton (about ½ the size of a Kent 8 fl oz (236ml) bottle.
Now the Bubble Coral has got BIG (the pictures provided was maybe 6 months ago) and when its fully inflated its about the same size as a API Reef Master Test Kit box (sometimes 1/3 bigger) and it comes very close to the Fox (maybe 1cm or 2cm).
I was wondering if I could move the Fox Coral to the location highlighted in picture 3 (or if any of you have a better idea or place where I can put it).

My lighting is of 4.72 watts per gallon, don’t want to put it high up as it would grow too fast and maybe turn into a different colour.

Can I frag the Fox or the Bubble?

Does anyone think it’s a good idea to move the Bubble? :-/
Say if I move the rocks, that’s on the left side of the overflow and put them in another place on the right side of the overflow, if not remove them and put them in my BioCube and then place the Bubble onto the sand and put a wave maker there to limit the growth.

Thank you for your help, I’m new to this forum and only learnt how to keep freshwater aquariums 2 years ago and it’s always been a dream to have a saltwater and learnt how to do that 1 ½ years ago :p (thought would be impossible to have a reef, until I moved to Florida from London ;D) and now its great to have people from around the world to share and gather information on this great site.

I would move the bubble to the highlighted area and the fox to where the bubble is. As long as you don't touch the tissue and the coral stays underwater they should be fine.

Thanks for replying, have been waiting impatiently for it, just want to get on and do something lol
I was considering that before, but I only have a 55gal and there isnt much room between that rock and the glass, (even though its the deepest section in the tank) i would say about the length of a hand is there. the bubble is really big and if i had a 75 or a 90 gal that shouldnt be a problem. Also i have a number of mushrooms in that area, with feather dusters next to it and zoanthids and xenia above (i should take a present photo of the tank as the corals have got bigger and spread).
