I know it is 13inches wide and rated up to 70 gallon do you think this unit is overkill for my tank since I only have 3 small fish at the time?? I am a little nervous about setting it up never have done that before but seems like there are decent online instructions

Don't woory about set up, its really easy.

It should be fine as long as size, I wouldn't worry about that either. If you have any corals that like dirtier water, you can always just run in for part of a week, like 3-5 days.

RIght now just xenia, but plan on adding some lps such as frogspawn or scroll corals and hoping to get a nice chalice or plate coral. I do not have a sump or fuge and to keep my nitrates between 10-20 ( am guilty of using tapwater at this time) I need to do 10gal WC every 10days which is more than I would like to do. Hoping a skimmer will allow me to stretch it to 5gal every 2 weeks

I don't have any personal experience with Salty Supply but from what I have seen here people that have dealt with them have given positive feedback. Also you can adjust the skimmer to give a dryer skimate if you feel like it is removing more then needed.Skimmers are great for oxygenating your water so I wouldn't worry too much about it being too big.;)

Already ordered! I am nervous about the setup and maintenance since it will be my first but excited to hopefully cut back on WC a little!

What do you have to do with these things besides emptying the cup?
