Is it ok if gfo spills out

    I had some gfo spill into my sump none got into my dt is it ok or when I get back home should I suck it up with a turkey baster? But will it hurt anything if it sits in my sump?

    I wouldn't say it would hurt anything but I would suck it out.

    Could leave some rust spots.....it is Iron. But no should not hurt.

    no idea and tagging along for the answer. my opinion though is that GFO absorbs crap and if you leave it in there it will just leach it back out. . . I would definitely suck it out. (if we're talking any real amount, but if some granules sprinkled in, I would not worry about it)

    I got what I could out and now im doing a water change to try and get more anyways it was time for my weekly water change

    I had some blow into my tank awhile back and it caused no harm. Every now an again I'll see one of those orange egg like things on the sand.

    +1 once it's oxidized it's fairly inert....
