is it important to keep the sg perfect during cycling??

    does it matter if the sg goes up or down a little when cycling???

    not unless there are major changes that would be large enough to kill things, minor changes are usually not that significant.

    i imagine not unless you have purchased live stock in the tank but it really should not be difficult to maintain sg while cycling. any reason for this concern?

    it doesnt change much considering that many LFS keep their tanks lower then what we keep our display tanks to ward off disease in their stock,
    I imagine you just are letting the water evaporate for a week or so then topping it off this is fine fine fine for the moment but down the road when you add livestock a ATO will make life so much easier as then salinity along with temp. are two things that need to be kept as stable as possible.
