    So I picked up a frag of this coral for $5 at my LFS a while ago and it's just now starting to grow and look good. I was wondering exactly what kind of coral it was. They just had it in a bin with a bunch of various other frags. I was thinking some kind of encrusting monti but I'm not sure.

    I'd say purple haze encrusting monti.

    It's actually a really dark red but the color is just a little off in the picture.
