Great write up. +1 Quick question... For an 180g tank, would you recommend putting all 40 lbs of miracle mud in the fuge? Or put some in the tank itself?

    Matt-

Did you hear anything about the effects from Vodka dosing while running Miracle Mud? If a skimmer is discouraged, I'd be afraid to Vodka dose. I know it said to use one on a timer if you must, a few hours a day, but I'm not sure that would be suitable for dosing. What do you think?

My hunch is that it all goes in the fuge. If it is flying around in the tank it is not going to act as a filter as it would if it were thick in a fuge or allow you to swap out 50% after a year as needed.

I asked Leng to validate and this is what he said:

    Good question. I'll ask.

By the way, I don't know much about this method of filtration other than what I posted - I have zero experience - I was just trying to convey the experience of being in that showroom which was incredible.

That said, I am happy to relay questions Leng's way so we can all learn more about it.

    Here is Leng's answer:

    Great write up.

More than a few times I've heard that miracle mud will eventually cause nitrates to rise. Perhaps this is because folks are not replacing 50% after the second year, or even earlier if they are not initially using the right amount for their setup.

MM may not be for everyone but it's a great successful showcase of yet another way to run a setup.

I'll be going back there in a couple of weeks capping off our clubs tank tour. I will try to get some updated pics of the tanks for this thread.
