I have limited space that i can fit a protein skimmer into my wet/dry, 5" x 6" x 4.5" deep water. The height is of no concern as its going under a stand thats 36" tall.

I have been looking at the marineland pro 100 for a few days and it seems to be the best skimmer i can fit into that footprint . . . or is it? Its on ebay for 150 shipped, is there anything I'm not aware of that would be better for my 125 gallon FOWLR setup? I'm trying to stay away from a HOB, and wont beable to get a bigger sump any time soon, but i probably will eventually.

Its twice as much money (299) but this skimmer fits your contraints and will skim the snot out of the outlet water of the marineland skimmer.

    Footprint - 5.5" x 4.5"

All skimmers are overrated though. I wouldn't trust either of them on a well stocked 125. Before you decide on a skimmer, give MRC a call and explain what you have and ask them if they think the 100 will handle your tank. The OF-200 won't fit your dimensions. What they may be able to do is build one with the same footprint but taller. It may even be something you could do later where you start with the 100 and then expand it and make it taller when you add more fish and/or corals.
