About 13.5wx11.5L on the bottom half and the top half is about half that. It is a PM 36R. PM advertises the sump with the Redline skimmers but I have heard they quality of the pump does not match the price.

With the Vertex out of the question due to size I am now thinking that the Octopus super reef 1000, 2000 line or an SWC extreme 160 skimmer would work best for my tank. Does anybody know the foot print of these three models? Also, any recommendations between the two brands? Thank you ahead of time.

Off the top of my head no... the info is out there though. I went and looked at your sump and figured out what you were talking about. You are going to have a hard time fitting something in there.

If I saw it correctly, they made the space to fit their Red Line skimmers. The foot print you have is not bad and can find skimmers to fit.... but it will be hard to find something to fit up top with the space provided. Your sump/fuge is very nice indeed.... but part of the problem with pre builts is they make them so proprietary and not very utilitarian. You cylinder size will be limited to the hole they left up top, and nothing can stick out below. Cones are going to be worse with the wide base.

Not all cones are the same..... look for tall slender cones. The SWC 160 cone comes to mind... I bet it would fit especially being a space saver design. At 120g I think it would be maxed out, but not undersized for your tank. Also... check out I-tech. Going to be over the $300 for a 100 I think, but they have tall slender cones and I bet it would fit...... darn... just looked, I don't feel the 100 would handle your 120g based on the 400 lph air draw, and the next step up is the 200. Would be great, but it's $600.

And yes... the Super Reef has a space saver 2000, would be good, but again it is going to be out of your price point.

I almost hate to mention it... I'm not a fan of spray skimmers because they need too much pump (but they do skim well).... but AquaC are good skimmers. What would be real good for you, and why I mention them is the small foot print. They have a rectangular box and would fit well up against your baffle with the cup coming up. If you go with a EV-120, then put a Mag 7 pump on it. That will drive it the best. You could get a 180 with the recommended pump. You can usually find them on sale used for half price.
