Take a look at this one, fits your $300 budget too.

Good God, you would think I know the price. I just don't pay attention. Ya, the Extreme 200 would do you well. I tend to look at cones and they are over, but below $300 for a Extreme 200 is a great price. Sicce is a good pump, and the build is very good.

Not to push something I'm selling, but I have an Octopus Extreme 200 modded to take a Bubble Blaster pump that worked quite well on my 120. I'm upgrading to a 185 so picked up an Octopus Super Reef 5000 and am selling the 200.

I just removed the 200 and had a buyer, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. If not then I could sell it to you and you'd get $400+ worth of skimmer and pump for 1/2 that. I can post a pic later of the foam this thing was putting out before I removed it. Pretty impressive.

LOL, I forgot you did the original review on that skimmer :)
I only paid attention because I have been considering it for a 150 gallon tank I have if I go saltwater instead of an african chiclid habitat.

I was talking with one of the guys at the fish store and they also recommended the vertex. I want to do a little more research on it but this is looking like choice number one. Thank you.

I looked into the Vertex and I do not believe it will fit in my new fuge. Time to start looking into another route.
