I have a Rio 2100 that needs a new impeller. I have found many...but I keep coming up with Rio 2100 and Rio 2100+ or plus. They advertise the same gph, but I cannot seem to get any other specs..such as if the shaft OD is the same for both...length etc.
If anyone knows if these are the same for a certainty, let me know, I need to handle this before I lose another blade on the old one.
So,question is.. are the impellers on the Rio 2100 and the 2100 plus the same size?
    Thanx in advance. :)

Considering that there are other physical differences in the pumps, along with the fact that they specify different impellers, they're probably not the same.

While I could not find actual specs on the impellers, I did find links showing the difference between the two pumps. Hope this helps.

    Thanx Bill.
..your right. Differences there are...mainly quality, It seems that the OD and the ID of the pump housing itself are the same.
As I found out, (road trip) I do indeed have the plus model, so I got the impeller for that model.....but while looking at the different impellers with my micrometer, I discovered that not only are the rio and rio plus interchangeable, but that they have different flavors...the needle wheel for example.

...also different brands will work as a spare part, with caution...as long as you measure it correctly. The only real difference I found with the two pumps was semantic, as the 2100 plus is always referred to as the "new" model, pump/power head....and the "old" model is referred to as just a pump. So basically, the 2100 plus comes with all the goodies..diverter and such..as the old 2100 does not...I now know way more than I ever intended about this subject. LOL : )
..but that's ok. Thank you for the reply. +1
