we had some customers in the store where I work that were pretty regular. When they decided to break up, the girlfriend came in and asked if we would take the tank back and asked how much we could give her for it. The next day, the guy came into the store and said nevermind, he is going to keep the tank and bought a pair of clowns to go into it. After he left, he called us back and informed us that she had poured bleach into the tank while he was gone.

I feel for you man. Once my mom got pissed at me and threatened to pour palmolive in my tank. I new she was bluffing but i did what she wanted just to be safe and of course, to calm her down.

Very sorry to hear about your losses. Hopefully in time everything will settle down for you. Best Wishes

P.S. My wife at tiems gets jealous over my aquarium too, although she is looking for a hobby... and I got one

WOOO what a day. Don't act on your thoughts of getting rid of anything for several days. Think it through. You are just upset at this time and will most likely change your mind later when you cool of. On the girlfriend note there are always blessings in hiding you may just not see it at this time.

I am sure all will work out for you as you have always been a good person to many on this website.

That's terrible. I hope you give yourself some time to think this over. Without the woman in the house, it may be therapeutic for you to keep at least one tank and nurture it as you nurture yourself back to normal as well.

Excellent idea. It may also make you more depressed to lose your critters and the tanks you cared and worked so hard on at the same time. Keeping them and taking care of them will help ease your mind.

I'm torn on this. He has a possibly pregnant girlfriend and 9 tanks? Hmmmmm I would think the possibly pregnant girlfriend would over ride any fish tank. I'll play devils advocate and ask. Were you spending too much time with the tanks and not enough with the POSSIBLY PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND???????????

wow that is heavy man. I am sorry to hear that. If it was me, i would break down and sell a couple tanks [the crapy ones, you all know what i am talking about] but not all of the them [slocal is right without a women, you will need something to focus on and care for. if just to keep your self sane]. and talk to the g/f, see whats up I have to agree that it was probably her that killed the tank, due to jealously. [ Which is something i think all of have to deal with in this hobby, i know i deal with it once a month...haha just a concidence] But if she is pregnet and it is yours, the baby should come first. in that case keep only one tank. eitherway i feel your pain, and good luck just dont rush into anything, smoke one and think about it
