if you had to desigen a 20 gallon long reef tank what would you do?

    what lights?
    sump?
    refugium?
    just filters?
what would you put in it?
What all would you do to the tank?

im looking into getting a 20l and would like to see how others would do it so i can get some ideas!

aquarium DIY LED kits with optics

would that be good for a 20l with zoas and softies with some lps?

also what drivwer would you recommend?

    the maxwellen LED driver?
    or
    the meanwell LPC-35-700?

    is there a difference?

I have a 20. I have 900 gph of flow, a hob filter rated for 30 gallons. I have a reef breeders LED unit. I have one sebae clown and probably 25 corals which includes softies, lps and sps.

If I could start over, I would include a skimmer and phos reactor in a sump with a fuge.

yeah i like the sump idea but idk if its worth it? your ok with the filter?

i like sumps because you can hide equipment and stuff like that.

and whats the fixture you run?

I have 55 over mine, but they aren't Cree. Cree diodes would require less diodes then my bridgelux. I don't know if 20 is enough or not. Is there a 30 diode option?

Hiding equipment is a reason why I would want the sump, but my calcification rate is significantly reduced by phosphate. I don't have algae issues, but coral growth is less than ideal. I have a Hydor skimmer and a phosban reactor, but adding those two to my tank in addition to power heads really takes away from the corals beauty, so I removed them. I have a 55 gallon that im in the process of building.

I bought the light from Reffbreeders.com. They're a sponsor of this site. It's the value fixture.

No, get a Stevesleds or Rapidled kit. 24 Leds, or get everything at ledgroupbuy.
