I would without a doubt hit up a good lfs... IMO these sites imo charge an unruly amount of money for corals of all types. though I have seen some sites offering free shipping over $250 or $300 which would make it all worth it if they didnt overprice coral to make up for the shipping.

The LFS here dont really care the "rarer" or nice stuff, most just have the GSP kenya trees stuff like that.

Thats also a good idea i never even thought of that!
This was my plan to eventually frag everything, but im not a chalice guy and with my luck my 300 dollar eye will die LOL then id cry lol

    good idea!

LOLLLLL actually her idea, i got a check from the left over money from school, bought her a barand new sofa and love seat and this is what i get back :)

Another good idea i cant believe i didnt think of!

    Thanks pack!

I was looking at that site and a few others that i have found...thinking about spending more like 100 tho....

reeffragz.com has some pretty good prices for frags
    extremecorals.com has some good ones
and pacific like you found seems to have some good prices.

None of the guys in ROC seem to have good prices on SPS.

I bought a nice pc of incredible hulk from ocean connection for 70. Even that was high but its a pretty good size and i like steve. I will probably buy all my coral online from here on out tho.

The prices around here are just rediculous. Reef creation in buffalo has good prices on SPS frags i will say though. they were just cleaned out last week

2 weeks ago they had buy 2 get one deal and they were all 10-20. 3 frags for 30 to 35 is pretty good IMO

Pacific East Aquaculture have lots of great corals. I'm contemplating an order with them when my new system is up. One thing I like about their site is that the lighting appears to be more natural but not 100% 10k so you still get a good idea of the color you're going to see in a tank with some actinic and it doesn't look like they photoshop much, if at all. Plus their prices seem pretty reasonable, although I think their chalices are still pretty expensive.

Some of the "extreme" sites that like to carry the really expensive "rare" stuff a lot of times look suspiciously photoshop heavy, I'm not sure I trust them.

pacific east has some really nice corals.... but again imo too much $$$. Some of their frag packs have some good value to em... but still.

I purchased 12 sps frags out by me for $140... and they are all top quality this past weekend.

dont take me wrong im just used to quality corals at great prices. I gues it helps to have an abundance of lfs locally to keep in competition...

Pacific east does have some corals id like to have in my tank...
