Similar to what have you done to your tank lately? I thought a thread about an OOPS and what you did to fix or or some of the biggest lessons learned.

If I only knew and really understood how important a good, powerful skimmer is. When running bio pellets, make sure there is plenty of oxygen in the water otherwise, fish can die:(

Feel free to chime in...some newbies would probably benefit!!

    Nice thread.

I'll add that although I developed an excellent 'intank overflow' system for my set up- as I said in another thread.

I should have gone a bit slower, and drilled my DT BEFORE it had fish and water!

I should have done more research on the perticular fish before I bought it. a manderin and scooter blenny wont work in a 20 gallon tank :p

Should have started with better lighting, better protein skimmer, bigger DT, bigger sump instead of upgrading multiple times and spending more money.

You get what you pay for.

Unfortunately most of us have learned this the hard way when it comes to equipment. It's funny how I can justify the cost of a $500 skimmer, when I use to balk at the idea of spending $40 on a refractometer.

Stay on top of dosing and testing... hell, put the dosing pump to work ive had for 3 years. If I had done that in April I wouldnt have lost half my corals.
