    Also I know about them being fast growers! I was hoping to let them take off and as I get more corals move them to the back of the tank and hopefully have them encrust up the glass.

    Better pics, now I can really see...
    Check colonial hyroids. I'm not saying that is what they are but the google image search I just did had a few pics w/ some that resembled what you have there.

    I keep mine isolated, by letting encrust a good sized rock, and keeping it isolated.
