    Found both of these while reefscaping my LR, I have no idea what it is, I think the white one may be a sponge? any ideas?

    They both look like sponges to me. Good filter feeders.

    dead now though...you pulled it out in the air and it sucked in air and is going to be toast!!

    Actually only the first one came out, I knew I could damage it if its a sponge, this is the small piece, I have 2 others, the white one stayed in the tank....woot, got volunteers all over the place, feather dusters, these, and shrooms, red and green. Hope your right, thanks.

    Yep, both appear to be sponges. Sponges usually die wen exposed to the air.

    not always the case. i got two sponges from live rock that was taken out of water for about 30 min at the least! but more than not it will die when you take it out of hte water
