Purchased yesterdy for $25 it's bout 2-3" diameter red skin with yellow eyes. Lfs owner just called it encrusting? Whatever tht means! Would like a positive iD And growth pattern. Was planning on placing at about 2/3 up in tank on. Open rock. Wonderting if it will encrust rock or grow as a plate or cabbage style if you will. Thnks guys!!

Please excuse poor spelling - a keyon BB phone is buggy!

It's an LPS coral and it likes moderate flow. When I had mine, I had it mid-way up in the tank with MH lighting. Give me an hour or so and I'll see if I can dig up an old picture of the one that I had.

Well looks like I got it for a good price...$25. I see wht you're saying though, some places say sps some lps. No where does it say it comes in red where as mine is mainly a vivid pink or red with yellow eye polyps. I hve the perfect spot for it and after a week or so I'll crank my led's up to about 90-95%. Whts diff between this and a monti? They seem to grow the same. I've alwys wanted a coral that has these growth patterns since I'm still only a year into this hobby. So far I've got frogspawn, hammer, hollywood stunner, and all are going soo well. Multiple growth on everything so my gf and I are really looking forward to this little guy

They are beautiful corals when they get bigger. If I'm not mistaken, the aquarium in Long Island has a huge one in their coral reef tank. Mine was a deep orange with bright yellow polyps.

Thanks for the karma....and I'm not a dude :D
