yesterday was okay, today this morning noticed all my fish has ick for some reason, i dont know why water is okay except a bit of nitrate which is up at 20.
My salinity was a bit high at 1.029, amonia nitrite all 0, calcium 400, ph 8.0
    dont know about the rest.

I dont and dont have money to set up a QT tank, and I currently have reef tank with corals and clams in. Is there any good medication that would help to fight this? Preferably not over 30 bucks for a medication, but if that is the only thing then that would have to do. Thanks for reading

Rid-ICH.... use the dip method if you don't have a QT tank. Just take some tank water in a bucket and USE THE SPECIFIED DOSE. Dip each fish individually for about 10 seconds then rinse them in clean tank water before placing back in tank.

As mentioned, buckets work for QT's. You can also go to any department store and pick up a clear tub/tote and use that as well for like $5. Don't need lights on it, just need a small powerfilter or sponge filter.

I have not had luck with a qt or rid ich. What seems to work best for me is extra feedings to keep the fish strong, add some garlic to the food and maybe some selcon. Keep the fish happy and they should be able to fight it off by themselves.

I have used Kordon Ich-Attack which is not expensive... it did not harm my reef... but I cant say that it got rid of the ich because i also gave them a freshwater dip.. but alot of people will disagree with freshwater dips.

You should also drop the salinity as much as you think its safe and raise the temperature but be careful with your reef.. keep an eye on all your corals..

The ich takes roughly a month to die off if there are no fish in the tank.. so if you dont qt your fish your ich will always be around most likely..

What I find works best is to up my water changes to keep the water nice and clean and feed a little extra with added vitamins. I used liquid Vita Chem. The fish will *usually* become immune to the ick, and while the ick stays in the tank, it cannot attack the fish.

If all your fish become immune, and you add no new fish, the ich will die off after 11-12 months because they have nothing to feed on. This worked for me!

This post is on the right track. I have touted (preached) about Marine-Max by Tropical Science for ever on this forum. It boosts the immune system of the fish so they can ward of diseases.

I swear by Selcon as a food additive to boost the fish's immune system. It worked great for my blue Hippo. When I got him, he was about 6" long and very prone to ich. After a few weeks of adding Selcon at feeding time, there wasn't a trace of ich on him.

Other products may be just as good, but I think the best approach is to maximize your fishes' immune systems, and minimize their stress (which is why keeping your water params good is important).

dont move the fish. Use selcon like said above, and garlic juice. Mix it in a glass with the food, and let it soak for 10 or 15 minutes. The fish will consume it, and the added vitamins will boost there immune system, and help them naturally fight off the parasite. moving them will just stress them more.

    +1.
I try to chime in whenever I see you mention it. Ever since I started using it, I've never ever had any disease outbreaks. Maybe I just got better at saltwater, but I still swear by this stuff. I only dose it full strength when I do a water change (every couple of months) or add a new fish (after properly quarantining it), but otherwise I do try to dose it at half strength on a regular schedule. As far as I'm concerned, Marine-Max WORKS!
