I recently added a powder blue tang to my dt. I didn't QT since I had run copper(cuprimin) in the tank about 8 wks ago. The copper level is still .5mg/L so ick should be no issue right? So I notice this am then the light come on that the PBT has spots on him. No other fish have anything on them. About an hr after the lights come on I see no white spots at all.The water param are 8.3 ph, 0 nh3,0 nitrites,0 nitrates. My sg is 1.020 water temps is 78. I was just about to add cuprisorb to remove the copper and start adding LR. But know I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking if no other fish show symptoms that I would continue to go ahead and remove the copper and then add some cleaner shrimp and soak the food in garlic. Then may be fw dip just the tang? I'm well aware how susucepable pbts are to ich. But I've never seen ich completely disappear before. I doubt it's lympho since the guy eats great and I'm giving them a great variety of food every other day. So I'd like you thoughts.

A lot of the time PBT's can bring the ick into the tank due to stress. It may be coming down with it but at least you still have the copper in there killing it off. I would keep the copper level up until it clears up. that will save you from having to move all your fish or remove your live rock to treat the ick later.

Hi, I just want to check as i have lost a couple of clowns recently to what i was told is ICK or is it ICH? I am getting confused with the two, can someone explain?

I have now removed my corals and I am dosing my tank directly with copper to kill it all off before I introduce any new fish as I have noticed it on all my remaining fish in the tank.

Ich and Ick are the same thing Cryptocarren irretesnis (not spell correctly)
I've been hearing about super strains of ick and I'm still not ick free yet. I've been running copper for a long while now and the pbt still continues to have it. It's definatly ich(not lympho) and seems to come and go. My water parms are 100% perfect and the fish is eating an acting fine. I'm incredibly frustrated with this.

I am also feeling your pain. I read in another thread to lower salinity to 1.013. I am currently doing 20% water changes daily so will start to try the lowering today and see if it makes any difference.
