I had to do the right thing and trade my Humu-Humu Trigger out of my Predator Tank in to the LFS because he was getting bullied by my slightly bigger Bursa...it was a tough decision, like trading in one of ur kids :(

BUT on the bright side I got a really nice store credit and used it against a HUGE Elegance Coral for my Reef Tank...I've heard they can be hard to keep but I had to give it a shot after staring at it in the store for 20min...lol Will take pics once it opens up all the way :)

They really need very dirty water compared to most corals. They live in muddy, shadowed areas. By dirty, I mean greater than 10ppm nitrates kind of dirty. It's pretty much a detritus-filled mud or sand bed that they live on in the wild. It's why when reefing first started, they were considered one of the easiest corals to keep, but now a whole bunch of people have problems....the systems are much cleaner now than 20 years ago, which isn't conducive to them.

I actually try to keep my nitrates at 10ppm anyhow..i found that all my corals grow faster with a little nitrates...and i have VERY little SPS in my tank...when I did water changes like a mad man to keep 0 nitrates i experienced little to no growth..so as an experiment i let my water get a little "dirty" persay...and the corals took off like wildfire..so hopefully this will be the case for the Elegance too :)

Nice trade. Hopefully the elegance does well for you, but as mentioned, it does seem to be one of those corals that can just melt away.

Props to you!!! I would have a rough time giving up any of my fish. They become like your kids(Well almost). If someone would have told me 2 years ago, that I would be attached to a fish, I would have thought they were crazy!!
