That'd be cool if ya could time it to dose at hatch. I got nothing but time most days. I'll just have to see how much work it really is going to be. I've also been looking into culturing them so I won't have to buy the eggs. Mysis too, which seems fairly simple if you have the room.

Don't they have ones that are eating prepared food, or do they all need live food?

Dwarf seahorses are the exception and as a general rule do not take prepared foods.

ORA was the only breeder I know of that was putting out zost's that were eating frozen foods but they have discontinued them. I've never heard of or read of any other breeder attempting this. It would simplify things for me but on the other hand I don't do anything without thoroughly researching and have talked with alot of people that keep dwarf's. It's work but it's also rewarding. If the kit was 2x as big I'd buy a pair of kudas from seahorsesource.

Not a problem were all here to learn. I'm going with H. Erctus in my 46 since are hardy and the fry are benthic and hitch at birth, If I'm lucky enough to get fry.

I'd ask where the original animals come from. I've heard that the subspecies of erectus that comes from the northern waters of the atlantic have pelagic fry and are kinda hard to raise.
If I had a bigger set up I would definately go with bigger ponies but that's not how this is going to play out.

    Alrighty then...

After looking at LED retro kits and other types of LED supplements I finally and totally by accident came across some more info on the 1 watt LED bulbs that are used in this fixture. They are manufactured by GE and are emmitting light in the 5000-5500k range. After exchanging a few emails with John Maloney @ www.reefcleaners.org I was relieved that in his opinion the macro's I want to use will do alright under these lights.
So within this month I will begin the Half Moon Corral! I'm so excited;D
It'll have it's own build thread but here's the basics.

    2" Tahitian Black Moon sand
    10lbs DIY rock
dictoyta glued to the rockwork in 2-3 patches
    caulerpa prolifera in the background
    red and green gracilaria
    shaving brush
    halimeda
    8 pairs of H. Zostrae
CUC will be mostly dwarf ceriths, a few nerites and some nass vibex to sift.
