I agree, thats not a bad drop,i used to keep my tanks at 1.021/22,i can see mabey a couple very delicate items lost but hope to think the majority of the tank can tank a short term swing like that.Good luck and i agree on the ato,3rd fail, smash it.

no fear in quiting ;) the wife wont let me take the tank down, i just hope she will learn enough to keep it up in case my health puts me back in the hospital or god forbid worse. and bless matt (king fish) he kept me here in the past when i wanted to leave. so i guess I'm on this coaster till it comes off the track even with all the ups and downs.

Like nothing even happened. it stresses me more than the tank and makes a lot of water to tote.
but the thought of a vacation got dumped out with the water.;)

I don't know what your target SG is but it needs to be brought up slowly, recommended .001 per day. I would take like 5 gallons out and mix the salt in there and slowly add it back through the sump. Or you can change your ato to a gravity fed style. That's what I did. but going slow back up is the key.

Glad everything is working out. I feel your pain. Lost coral many times to stupid mistakes I've made.

I run on the low side at 1.024 so it was only a .002 swing, just drained out the extra water and cupped salt in the over flow on one of the tanks over several hours.
unfortunately it has happened before, but that doesn't make me any less pi**** off when it happens. and yes going to have to look in to a change for the ato 2 floats and 2 timed 15 minute cycles a day on a timer just doesn't make it fail safe.;)
