Hang in there. Recently you said you have been in this hobby for 30+ years. In all that time surely you've dealt with bigger issues?

I know the frustration, and if your out then your out, but I say stick with it.

On a side note, I keep an old school wood baseball bat in my room for home protection. I can't tell you how many times I've had the urge to just swing that sucker right into my DT.

sorry to hear about the ato. i am always tempted to set one of those up. Especially since i travel a lot for work. It is hearing so many stories like this one that keeps me topping off by hand. Did you check what the salinity change was?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I am sorry. Been there, but I usually want to throw the tank off the balcony.

Sometimes I just have to walk away for awhile, I always come back, I have a feeling you will too.

    Good luck.

Honestly, I think most of the marine creatures we keep have evolved to deal with tidal changed. Corals always grow near the surface (relatively speaking) of the water and so logically I deduce that they can withstand salinity fluctuations. Going from normal levels to 1.022 back to normal again might certainly be a shock, but not one that should kill everything.

    I have faith.

Get that salinity back up, ease up on the medication, and call us in the morning.

depends on how many you take everyday...tolerance is key

1.022 isnt that bad, you will probably just see some angry corals for a bit, at the worst lose some delicate sps

Sorry to hear that homegrowncorals. Technology is sort of a blessing and a curse unfortunately. I hope things work out. I think 1.022 isn't too bad a drop, I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed. Hope you stay in the hobby :)

first thing in the morning the ato gets the hammer 3 times and your out. 2 floats as well as a timer 15 min twice a day and it still dos what it wants.. Murphy's law gos hand in hand with bad luck.
