    just leave the clam alone and let it be...Also lighting plays a big role if you really like your clam to open and florish up...
    makes sure your lighting is at it's peak preformance...
    this is done by swapping your bulbs every 6-8 months depending on how long you have the main daylighting on(hours)...

    If it were me, I would definitely research or ask questions on 3Reef before I bought anything from that store again....and know what you're getting before you get there.

    I was at a big name fish store a few weeks ago and a lady was buying 3 Koi fish. I asked her how big her pond was and she said it was a 10 gallon tank with about 15 goldfish in it. I told her... kinda crowded already and her fish are gonna outgrow the tank... to which she replied, " the employee told me it would be fine so I'm gonna get them"......Hello. What is wrong with these people?

    What this means is: a lot of stores are only there to make a profit and employees are not trained to know what they are so they make it up as they go along or do rediculous things thinking this is how it is done.

    At one of our LFS, their hours depend on sales...so if they are selling a Lion Fish to someone with Clowns.....and need the hours....are they gonna tell them? Probably not.

    ::)Research First.::)

    I agree. I think it is a terrible practice to sell someone something and tell them it will be fine and know it will not be. I know the employee who sold them and she knows better.

    Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of fish stores in our area. At one of the stores, the owner, told me the Sweetless (actually a Sweetlips) would always stay small and shouldn't get any bigger than a clown.

    As soon as I walk in the door at the second one, the employees will show me fish and ask me what I know about it so they can tell the people coming in. They didn't know they shouldn't stick their hands into the Lionfish tank and had no idea they should wash their hands moving Zoas around....and that is why I read tons of articles before I make a purchase of fish.

    Incidentlly: The Einstein that tried to sell me the Sweetless uses the Pop-N-Drop method with his tanks....that's right...no acclimation required.

    ....Yep...very limited in this area.::)
