    Yeah definitely dont beat yourself up about it, especially if youre new to clams and had no clue. You cant blame yourself for this if the LFS is telling you thats what they do!

    I definitely agree, you should take it back and get a refund.

    I knew better we drove by after a long day of boating and my dad liked it so we bought it it was defiantly supper glue I asked what he used and it was the red tube bsi I think for glueing corals. I always read befor I but and this is one I did not so it is my falt I guess so just let it be or what I am not with it right now.

    I didn't know a clam was glued. Is this normal practice as I've had a Derasa and a Maxima and neither were? Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking.

    Clams should never be glued to anything. Anyway, they make their own "glue" called byssal threads.

    No ur right! I bought it form some one not knowing right and I screwed it up more by adding more glue! It sucks in this economy it takes a long time to save money and It will be a long time tell I get a new clam :(

    Never mind, several comments came in while I was asking the question and it appears my thinking that there should be no glue was right.

    Take it back. They are the ones responsible by putting glue on it and selling it to the public. If I didn't know and got a coral and they said it was glued, I would consider this an OK practice and would try it myself if I needed to.

    I don't think it is your fault, it is theirs and you shouldn't have to take a loss.

    Ya I will see if he pulles threw I will call and let them know if it dies and if it does and they don't refund or replace the clam I might have to take care of it the Darrel way

    I wouldn't take a replacement if they are all glued but that's just me. wouldn't be surprised if they would all die from being glued.
