I dont want get out totally there built in to some of the walls in my house so I would have some ugly places and I would rather work on tanks then fixing the holes. LOL Tangster I know what you mean I sold my 68 ford bronco with a 351 ho sitting down in it. It was one bad puppy I am looking for a new diesel to build now.I do alot of tractor restoring I have a sand blasting business. So I get into alot of diffrent stuff. I think I may have found what happened my Mag is out of this world when I went and got the new test kit for it its over 2100:-X the kit only goes to 2100 and it is way over it from what i can tell so I went to look at my mag mixer guess what the the hose broke And it all leaked out right down into my cheato tank. I wondered why it had slowed down growing. I am doing more water changes as my alk is up to 16 now so I GOT TO GET EVERYTHING BACK IN WHACK. Oh what fun then I am going to quit playing so much I just ordered a bigger Ozone generator to go in the system and a couple ocean clear filter canisters. If I ever get off working all this over time at my regular job I might have time to get it all done.

 

Ok I found the problem my aguafuge was black nasty sludge I had it blocked from sight to keep the light from escaping and hadnt checked it lately the intake had plugged almost all the way up. the bad thing I drip my magnesium into it to disperse into the rest of the system from the overflow pipe well I would hate to see what the maglevel in there was but it stunk so bad I wasnt getting that close to it I wrapped it in glad wrap and throught the hole thing out side till I get mad and dump it out in the trash. I am going to drill a 29 in a bit and make a new one with 3 sides painted to keep light in. Everything is looking a whole lot better I have 20 pnds of carbon running in about anything I could find to run it through.

 

Ok I guess my little while is up I am so addicted I cant quit now I just have to replace all my lps I think I am going to stay away from sps for a while till I get all my problems worked out and have more time to devote to the sps I already have another 100 gallon sump that I am getting filled with live rock when I order this week.

can you explain your setup. since you desire sps maybe we can all help to fullfill your dreams.

 

I have a 75 and a 120 plumbed together through a 150 gallon sump I have a etss skimmer big giant one not sure what # its about 5 years old and I run a modified redsea berlin just to watch it foam from ozone also I have a 30 gallon acrylic frag tank plumbed into this also. Now I have a 40 gallon breeder plumbed in also. I had a refugium but I tool it down after last weeks episode I still have some some purple cap but I lost all my green and red and all the purpletip yellow monticap in both tanks. everythig is fixed now though I had 2 problems the refugium plugging and rotting from mag drip. and my refractometer not beinng correct so my salt was pretty high and I didnt know it. everything else is opened up and looking awesome again today my brown sps is ok also it peeled a bit but it is coming back today. I have twin 250 halides over my 75 a 250 and 400 over my 120 a 150 watt over the 30 gallon frag and a mixture of atinic t5s and t8s over all the tanks. and t5s over mantis tank. I am running ozone and a geo 624 calcium reactor.
