    ok, so.... a few weeks ago a had a bad case of ich. (got most of my fish killed, only one clown and a goby survived.)

    i didnt want to wait a whole month with a fishless tank for the ich to go away, so i took the tank down and cleaned it with lots of fresh water and a sponge.

    then i took the LR and sand and did the same. Now i restarted the tank with two clowns to start the cycle again. today i noticed about 3-5 little barely noticeable white spots on my clown.(the male) im not sure if its ich though..... i cleaned the tank 4 days ago, and added the fish 3 days ago. i mean REALLY?

    in my QT i have the clown and goby ( the survivors) the clown seems better and the goby is getting a little better. (fins are not so good..a little eaten away by ich) but he eats a lot now, which makes me think he is getting better. im treating the tank with copper.

    so my question is..... should i QT my recently obtained clown with the survivors? i only have that one QT tank with the other clown and goby ( which as i mention before are not fully recovered) . I mean if he started to get ich i dont want to have to go through the same thing again.........

    ugh...... this is really frustrating.:cry::cry::cry::cry:

    When you pulled the clown and goby the first time, did you treat them with copper? If so for how long? Going 6 weeks fallow is a hassle, but follows with the old reef saying that the only thing you can rush in this hobby is failure.

    and personally I wouldn't have bought anything until the tank was ready. But since you already did I would QT the new clown (and everything you add in the future) with the old survivors.

    yea... rushing does lead to failure sometimes, its just really hard not to lol

    they have been in the QT for about 5 days now. and since i knew i needed to wait that long before even adding them back to the DT i just decided to clean out the tank and start over.

    Im not sure why the clown might of gotten ich. perhaps it already had something from the start. im going to put him into the QT. (that wont get him sicker will it? since he is going to be with my other QT "survivors"?)
