I HAVE ICH ON ALL MY FISH... I WASNT READY FOR IT AND I DONT EVEN HAVE A QT TANK.

NO MEDICINE RIGHT NOW, I CAN BUY SOME TOMORROW BUT I NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO RIGHT NOW.

My flame angel is dying and i have no idea on what to do. i gaved him a fresh water dip for 4 minutes. and since i have no QT right now i put him back into the tank, he went to the filter thing and stayed there until my yellow tang started to bite him!! he attacked him!

i scared him away and moved my flame angel slowly with my hand and put all kinds of ornaments around him so the yellow tang wouldn't reach him. I put the flow of water pointing to his location so he would get some oxygen, he is laying on the bottom, motionless, breathing fast.

my other fish have early stages of ich aswell, not so bad as my flames but still ich. my yellow tang has black ich too! its all a mess!! everything was fine until a week ago.

please tell me what to do. specific instructions. right now its 2am and the LFS opens at 12:00.

is there anything i can do to help my flames? or is he a lost case?
im so frustrated!! he didnt even showed signs of ich until today.

i have two clown fish and a yellow tang and a flames angel

Ich is VERY treatable, so calm down, and take solace in knowing people have treated their fish successfully for a very long time now. It just takes patience.

This article was very helpful for me
Marine Ich - Myths and Facts - Reef Sanctuary

DO NOT DO FRESHWATER DIPS. They are only going to stress out your fish. The parasite is already infested in your tank (it's everywhere: substrate, rock, floating in the water depending on what stage of its life cycle it's in). Please read the provided link CAREFULLY and never be hasty when treating ich.

Are the other fish besides the flame angel eating? As long as they are eating they should be able to overcome ich. Also, I hate to say it but it's not sounding too good for your flame angel it will most likely die if it's laying on the sand and breathing hard.

    homemade

do you have any garlic around the home- if so press some and add the liquid extract to the fishes food , its a very good appetite stimulator and a fish with a healthy appetite, that eats well, is better placed to build up their own immunity system

+1 on not doing FW dips - placing a treated fish back in the tank it came from means the stress the fish went through makes it even more of a target for the parasite

Believe me I felt the same way when I lost my female clownfish last week she was attacked by another fish and all I could do was watch her die. The good news is your other fish are eating so they SHOULD be able to overcome ich.

look for the underlying issues in your tank. If a fish has a healthy immune system, the odds of contracting ich are very slim and if your tank is up to par, ich is very beatable. I have several times brought a fish with ich, from the store where I worked and put it in my tank and the spores are usually gone within a few days and everything is hunky dory. With that being said, do I believe that all systems have ich in them?? no I don't. Some people do a very good job of maintaining a sterile tank but those tanks are very few and far between. I personally, anymore, don't qt fish at all because that just adds to the stress of the sitiuation. I would start using a lot of garlic, test your water parms and if they are ok feed your fish a little extra for a few days. You may want to check on getting a titanium grounding probe too. One of the best 20 bux that you can spend. I hope this helps
