While it's good that they "fixed the problem" in a reasonable manner, it's still not ok that their error (negligence) killed something of value and they should have to make it right financially.

Wow that sucks.. Just one thing, you need proof of what die.. I hope you took a lot of pictures. I would not give up.. I have had clients, that have had computer equiptment fried do to surges & one that they reversed the connections at the pole. They were held 100% at fault!! How were you going to let them know? You weren't home, bunch of clowns. I can't stand lawyers either!

Sooo... let me get this straight.

They shut your power off on accident, and admitted it was their fault. They waived a reconnect fee for something they should have been jumping through hoops to do anyways. Then they say that there is nothing they can do beyond.

    BS

That company should have had their CS rep calling you begging forgiveness with check in hand. I would not stop talking to the company. They are definitely at fault here.

    That lawyer is a moron.

Sorry for all your troubles. Whenever you get setup and running again, let me know and I will be more than willing to forward you a **** ton of SPS for free to help you out.

YOUR insurance is taking it easy on the power company. THey need to be the ones to pay! I'd go after them. Had this happen to me in college while I was home on a break. They paid for my food, etc. They will tell you they cant, but I hounded them about turning off the wrong unit and kept threatening and finally they settled.

Dont let them get away with it. They should pay. To a power company a couple thousand dollars is nothing, they just dont want to deal with it. They figure if they ignore it, the problem will go away. Just become a bigger problem without going to any extremes. Good luck, sorry to hear of your troubles.
