I was out of town for three days and i came back home to no power. looked around and all the neighbors had power. as i waited on hold with ipl i went to check my tank dreading what i would find. my tanks temp was down to 55f and every fish, shrimp and coral dead the only things moving was a couple of hermits and snails. iplfinnaly answers i ask them what the hell is going on and they look up every thing and come to find out they disconected the power to the wrong apt. fna im so bloody pissed all the corals had just started to realy grow the fish where all healthy and now everythings dead im half tempted to throw the whole dam set up in the dumpster grrrrr

ouch! Dude I completely understand your frustration, but don't give up. This wasn't your fault.

I would be be petitioning to someone at the electric company for some compensation. I'm sure all your food in the fridge has gone bad too.

If I were you I would 100% make a list of everything in your tank with a price list and I would push for compensation, that just isn't right

I would be making a list right now, of the total costs of everything. They owe you that cost.

Really sorry to hear this. :(

I wonder if you could sue if they won't cover it? It is directly their fault...

How much money do you think you lost in the tank?

im sorry for your losses. beyond the monetary value, is the attachment to fish and corals you have watched grow. dont give up, it wasnt your fault. not that that makes you feel better. :(

Because it is directly their fault, I would go after them. :) Get help from PETA if not, They basically killed animals in your home. Just a long shot but might help...

    Sorry bout the losses

Why are you talking to your insurance company? Did the power company tell you to pound sand? The power company is responsible for any loss you suffered due to their mistake. You need to contact them and see what is the process is for filing a claim. If they do tell you to pound sand, spend the $50 or so and file a small claims suit. It's an easy win because the abmitted that they made a mistake.

If you file a claim with your insurance company, you are risking your rates being increased. In nd you are penalized for their mistake.
