I have a 120 gallon tank that is 25 inches deep. I have looked everywhere for a good light for it. Does anyone know what light would be good for my tank.....MH or T5's. I dont know if i really want mh because of the heat and the cost to run them. I kinda want a combo kit that has the lunar lights built in. Please help me find a good light.

Any tek light will do fine, get a 6-8 bulb tek light with SLRs and you will be good to go my friend!

This topic has been debated to the point of exhaustion. The bottom line is which one can you afford? Afford= money, heat, evaporation, buying extra equipment to cool the tank, there are soooo many factors to consider.

    MH - T5

there are supporters with very valid arguements for both types
MH - tried, tested and proven to be a great source of light for light demanding corals
    in deeper than average tanks

T5 - relatively new kid on the block, and many people are achieving good results with light demading corals, when using enough of these with good single lamp reflectors

how long is you tank ? by the way? sorry, I know, I should know this.

What do you plan on keeping? And as Steve asked, how long is your tank?

    his tank is prolly a standard 120 gallon.....48 1/2 x 24 1/4 x 25 1/2

In that case...I would do an 8 bulb T5 setup....pop some icecap ballasts on their and overdrive if you want.
