ick problems? i was too lazy to read the whole thread even though its like 1 and a half pages right now XD but if u have fish with ick in a QT use hyposalinity. for you main tank leave it without fish for 6-8 weeks and feed it fish food for the bacteria to thrive. i went through it too; leaving my tank empty with no fish was the worst thing ever...

im referring to him too but yours was the last comment... ANYWAY just leave the tank without fish for 6-8 weeks and the ick should have died out. dont use copper because inverts and corals probably wont survive

This thread is full of fail....

Sorry, any treatment for ich that is not hypo/copper/fallow will not work. PERIOD.

You say you are not up on it, guess what, WE ARE. Read up on it and you will see that we may know what we are talking about here. One of you is 14 and the other 15, you both have a lot of growing up to do. My advice: stop posting mis-information and read, read, read and read some more.

OK OK lets get away from the semantics and back to helping.

ICK typically lives in all fish, getting ride of it is not possible. Treatments tend to build up the fish's immune system and get the ICK under control. Garlic again is not a treatment but a way to get the fist eating and eating will aid in the fight against the ICK.

6 month old Tanks will have the algae blooms and taking it slow will help. Looks like you've had some challenges but keep going slow and steady and you will get over these things

i am not trying to be rude and that comment i made i will admit was rude. non copper treatments have worked for me but i dont know how they work compared to copper treatments. i will admit leaving the tank empty for several months is the best way to rid yourself of the parasite, but if you are like me, those few months will be like torture. sorry to everyone that was part in my rudeness
