Just got that goldenhead sleeper goby that I have been dying to get. Jumped for joy last night as I shined my flashlight into my tank to view all the COPEPODS I have for him to dine on.

Well, not only did I take the poor little guy away from his goby friend at the LFS, but he looked SO afraid when I tried acclimating him that I just threw him in. Now he is hiding away under a rock somewhere probably dead of fright and shock and my hermit is probably eating the feast of his life....gggrrr

I am a horrible and cruel person...:(

    Just needed to vent

Give it a couple of days. It will adjust to your tank.

I want another goby but between the yellow watchman and pair of pearly jawfish I think it might get ugly :(

bahaha, yeah i used to feel horrible and cruel just even owning a tank but I read a post by Peredhil a few weeks ago and basically he said that fish arent capable of feeling joy and they probably think 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming'...
The statement really rang true and right to me - so yeah i sleep easier now days. Thanks Peredhil ;-)

Its not about loving or caring for your fish less but about not projecting complex human feelings on something that probably doesnt have the same capacity to feel them to the same extent.
Well i dunno if u had/have the same gut wrenching anxiety as i used to but i feel so much better now that ive put my fish friends back into perspective. They are not little humans in a tank, which is how i used to see them!

Anyhoo, hope your fish comes out of 'flight mode' and into 'feed mode' soon :):):):):):):)
