Okay so after thinking about it for several months I went ahead and bought my dream fish. I got him from Sea of Marvels in North Liberty Iowa. By far the best LFS I have EVER been in! My Majestic is approximately 4 inches in length and is in great health. He was eating from the first day I put him in the tank. One thing I will note is he is very shy. I rearanged some rock work to create a cave just for him. He spends a lot of time in there. Anybody who has ever kept one I would love to hear some input on this fish. He is in a 125 all by himself at the moment. Feeding him Mysis shrimp, prime reef flakes, garlic, formula 2, and the occasional algae sheet. Thanks!

I am preparing some food for him now. Hoping it will get him to come out long enough for a quick pic or two.

congrats, it's such an awesome thing to get that fish you've been dreaming of & k+ to you for putting it in a tank large enough for it to be happy.

He came out of 20,000 gallon overall system. (Inlcuding the sump) The tank he was in is 1000 gallons. He was with nearly every other type of large angelfish you can imagine. It was amazing. Sea of Marvels is an incredible store! So I only worry that coming from a 1000 gallon system to 125 will be hard for him to adjust??

Get littleneck clams from the fishmonger weekly. If you have an Asian grocery near you, you can likely find some frozen ones. H2OLife sells Clams on the half shell. Obtain a living sponge from the LFS or obtain a food that contains sponge. Reef Nutrition has Angel Formula that contains sponge. Make sure you are soaking the flake food in Selcon, GVH, or other quality Vitamin/HUFA mix. To keep the coloration vibrant, make sure you are feeding a food high in Astaxanthin (Krill, Shrimp, Cyclopeeze, Golden Pearls, Tetra Micro-crabs, etc) If your fish store sells live Ogo (Gracilaria spp), he'll go nuts over it.

BTW, if you have a sump, you can put a non-photosynthetic sponge in there and cut off a small portion of it weekly to feed it.

I wouldn't worry about that. I can go into stores I've worked at and the "Pets" (i.e. fish that are purposely priced so high that no one will ever buy them) will come swimming from the other side of the tank and beg for food. Your fish is in a new tank, you are NOT the person who it is used to bringing them food.....YET!!! Give him some time. Before you know it, it's going to begging for food every time you walk in the room.
