i cant get my pH up?

    thank you unclejed, as of now my pH is 7.99 so it might be ok after all.. where do you get the sea-lab No14pH?

    Jeff....Baking soda raises alk, but lowers PH!!!! That is why you cant get the PH up. Try using some Seachem Reef Buffer, or Kent Superbuffer. Just add a little a day, and it will build up in the system. Then you can just add a little every week. The stuff is cheap. (7.00).
    Look at the calculator on this site, and use the alkalinity table with the baking soda option. It will tell you it LOWERS PH. The other products raise both PH and Alk safely.

    i had problems with ph and dkh till i started 2 part dosing. took a while to get the balance back but when it was it was rock solid 8.4

    thank you baller i will try some superbuffer. have you ever used kalk? i would like to try superbuffer with kalk?

    Seachem seems to raise the PH almost instantly, but does not seem to hold it there as long as the Kent Superbuffer. All in all about the same.

    No biggie, and thanks for the K. BTW I always underdose everything. There seems to be a day or 2 delay. My Ph actually went to 8.5 2 days after the 3rd dose, so be careful. You will get the feel for it.
