I just found out that I have a 60 gallon aquarium not a 75 gallon... as this may not seem like a big deal it is I have for 3 years thought that my aquarium was 75 gallons buying all sorts of things to stock it and equipment to use in it like my aqua clear 110 for a 100 gallon aquarium thinking it would fit a 75 nicley and my new $340 light thinking that it would be putting out the perfect amount of light even though it is doing more now... I mean wow how could I miss something so large? and my bak pak two skimmer overkill... my weekly 10 gallon water changes overkill... no wonder at times it was so hard to control alage and other issues I was treating in doses wrong...

Well just thought I would let people in on my stupidty but i have found a 90 gallon for 200 with sump and stand so hopfully this wont be for long.

except for all the times i overdosed the fish when they were sick or control the alage with alot more and larger water changes prolly hurt more then helped. I just don't know how it got past me after 3 years you would think it would be brought up to be checked.

1 Gallon is 1.33 cubic feet. So take the tank's LxWxH divide by 1728. This will give you your cubic volume, then multiply that # by 1.33 and wella your total gallons.

I used to think my old acrylic was an 75 gallon and it was an 80, granted I only had it running for 6-7 weeks before deciding to go glass-LOL
    Tank barely cycled

That depends, did that method tell you your tank was a 60 or 75 gallon:eek:.

Could not resist, the door was wide open ;)

Umm, I used that math, and my 62" long x 30" deep x 24" tall tank ends up being 34.358 gallons.

I think your equation is wrong;)
