well i wasnt really thinking of putting in any clownfish because they could be eaten but i have seen it many times where they wont be eaten. Would i put in the cleaner wrasses first so they can set up a station after the tank is cycled? What would be some good cycling fish that i could keep in the tank and not have to return? what are your thoughts on a snowflake eel? would an eel make a big mess and make a big impact on the bioload? Is there any other fish you would suggest to add? Basically i am set on the puffer and 2 triggers and everything else is just ideas as of now. Thanks again

Clowns are very strong fish. Cleaner wrasse's survive when they have parasites to munch on so don't expect them to set up shop in your tank because they'll die waiting. I don't really believe anyone has an explanation for cleaner wrasse's. Like I said your going to have to put new cleaners in whenever you see ich starting. The other option is cleaner shrimps that last a long time but you know that story so this is your call. If you diligently keep your tank clean and keep the fish from getting parasites you may not always need cleaners. How would you feel about having a 450 lb man sharing your studio apartment? Did I here you say eel? I'm just shaking my head in bewilderment but that's why your hear to get help. X the eel.

haha i like that. ya i had a feeling no eel just because they are some messy fish and not to mention a guy i know had his snowflake try and swallow one of his triggers....he sure had fun getting the trigger out of the eels mouth haha. are there any other small fish you would suggest with a sailfin tang, puffer and 2 triggers? basically i want a few big show fish and then some.. i guess you could say smaller "filler" fish. So the cleaner wrasses will eat the ich? would that mean i wouldnt need to treat it or do they just cut the parasite back?

Cleaner fish or shrimp don't necessarily eat ich, they can help keep fish clean of parasites, but they may not necessarily do it. The tank is a much different environment then the oceans and the cleaner fish especially may not clean the smaller fish we keep. I've not known any cleaner wrasse to last long in the home aquarium. I would forgo the cleaner fish and shrimp, neither will do well in the type of tank you want, IMO.

I agree, I just read an article today that was talking about how cleaner fish and shrimp do not clean ich off fish.
