Like title says. Im sure this is going to be the demise of this coral and give it an even shorter life span that it already had.. In general though, what are ways to stop him from messing around and rubbing against the coral all day?

It's a difficult thing to avoid as once clowns decide to host something, its hard to get them to switch. If possible, you may be able to switch it to a different part of the tank and "replace" it with a hardier soft coral. Mine host a bunch of green hairy mushrooms and the mushrooms are still thriving.

Other than that I'm not sure if there is anything else you can do.

    simply put, no...

only way is to remove the coral or the clowns. i say let them host, if the coral seems to be declining put it in quarantine or get rid of the clowns.

or you could just get an anemone that the clowns couldnt resist to pull them from the coral. but that could do more harm than good.

At the same time there is no guarantee that they would switch to an anemone, even if introduced.

NYVW-Do you have any other corals in your tank?

then really your only option is to get rid of the clowns if they dont stop hosting.
