I just got a copper banded butterfly a couple of weeks ago the first day my damsel chased it around the tank then everything settled down Iam retired home all day, tonight I went shopping came home and the butterfly is hanging at the top I watch for a hr or so and its just not right so I check it out more some of its scales are missing and it has a couple of briuses you can see some blood under the skin. I have moved it to the qt tank and started it on antibiotics. I know it was that damsel it has to go but how do I get it out I tried netting it but its to fast any ideas before I take the tank apart.:(

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Damsels are hard to catch.

    You can
    1. Make a fish trap, just google it.
    2. Go fishing with a tiny hook, this does work for a lot of people.
    3. Attempt to catch the fish while it sleeps.
    4. Leave the net in the tank while you feed and let the fish become desensitized to it.
    5. Last but not least involves removing a good portion of the water.

Copperband butterflies can be difficult fish to feed and do poorly with more aggressive fish. They appear to be eating but actually the average fish foods do not meet their nutritional needs.

For a damsel, I'd go with:

    1. Make a fish trap, just google it.

A bottle trap works pretty well for a bold, aggressive fish.

I'd try the bottle trap, if that doesn't work, I'd call a priest and do an exorcism;)
