Just to clarify, the tank crashed after an anemone died, a relatively catastrophic event...and then things keep dying. No offense meant but is the lobster maybe taking more blame than it should considering the circumstances?

I'm skeptical of putting a lobster in my reef for fear of it's opportunistic tendencies but based on the limited amount of information that you shared I'm not entirely sure it's a sure shot one way or another. Maybe it is the lobster getting hungry but after such an event I wonder if water quality or some other nastiness left over from the crash might not be more readily to blame.

Maybe there's something about the situation I don't know. Just an idea.

the lobster wasnt the 1st thing in,just one of the only survivors.

there is a chance the tank is still messed up from the nem but i dont think so,her water tests perfect, tested by myself aswell as 2 lfs.fish are living to long for it to be the nem imo.the nem crash was months ago and theres been a total of about 400gallons of changed water(judging by the salt bucket) icluding 2 90% changes imidiately after the death of the nem.fish are still living fine in the tank just once nd awhile they eiher go missing (tank has covers) or tails are chopped clear off.

Maybe set up a small tank to hold the lobster temporarily. Then you can see if stuff stops dying. If stuff dosn't die, then you know it was the lobster.

    difficult moral question

I have considered it from various angles and perspectives
trying to asses the merits of all the opinions previously given
weighed up the positives and negatives of each course of action available to you
and have come to the conclusion , that I dont feel strongly enough to offer an opinion either way

    LOL?

    25 years amcarrig - divided by 2

I had 8 happy years of marriage 1st time round, followed by 3 indifferent years and then 2 awful ones for a total of 13
12 years the second time round thus far
and this time round I can play the "My wife doesnt understand me " card with at least some credibility LOL
